Overview

Immerse yourself in the dazzling array of stars of the Aoraki International Dark Sky Reserve: the distinctive glass SkyScape maximises the amazing views over Mackenzie Country by both day and by night.

This carefully designed accommodation nestles discreetly into the hillside on the 6000-acre Omahau Hill Station, a working sheep and cattle farm located just 12kms from Twizel and set against the picturesque Ben Ohau mountain range.

Secluded and private, the unit offers the perfect romantic escape and comprises a bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette all with glass roof. The bedroom also features floor to ceiling windows, adding to the sense of becoming part of the surrounding landscape. Outside is a courtyard with a cedar bathtub, ideal for a luxurious soak with a glass of wine as the sun sets and the stars come out.

Your stay at SkyScape includes a gourmet continental breakfast hamper daily. For dinner, a choice of restaurants are available in nearby Twizel, or a sharing platter can be arranged at additional cost should you prefer to dine in.

During your stay at SkyScape you may wish to take an optional tour of the farm, meeting the various four-legged residents and learning about life on a sheep station, or take an independent hike on the Flanagan’s Pass Trail, which runs through the property. SkyScape is also a great base from which to explore the many attractions of Mt Cook National Park and Lake Tekapo, both around an hour’s drive from the farm.

Please note a minimum 2-night stay is required at SkyScape.
