Approximately 45 minutes by floatplane from Anchorage, Redoubt Bay is one of the most easily accessible brown bear viewing spots in Alaska.
A memorable way to begin or end your holiday, the scenic flight over the Cook Inlet to the Redoubt Bay Critical Habitat Area makes the journey alone worth the effort. On arrival, you will board a covered pontoon boat, accompanied by an experienced naturalist, for a 3-hour cruise with stop at Wolverine Creek Cove.
These waters are host to sockeye and Coho salmon runs, and are popular feeding grounds for the resident brown bear populations. The salmon run takes place during July, however brown bears can also be spotted from mid-June through to the end of August. Lunch is included at Redoubt Bay Lodge. Please note that wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed.
