Explore the hidden corners and scenic highlights of the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area, including a spectacular 2-hour hike overlooking the Grose Valley.
The Blue Mountains’ sandstone outcrops, deep ravines and hazy blue eucalypt forests are a natural playground, best explored on foot. This small group tour will take you off the beaten path, with a chance to learn about the region’s fascinating history, flora and fauna.
After departing Sydney you’ll stop for morning tea at Calmsley Hill, a working farm where you can also find wildlife such as kangaroos, emus, wombats and koalas. Continuing to the Blue Mountains you’ll take in breathtaking views over the Jamison Valley. You’ll also stop to admire the Three Sisters, while your guide shares the ancient legends of this distinctive rock formation.
At Evans Lookout you’ll be provided with a packed lunch and instructions for the hiking trail. Arguably one of the most scenic in the national park, the track will lead you over ridges and valleys with views of Australia’s Grand Canyon, the Grose Valley. Your trail ends at Govetts Leap, a spectacular lookout point with thunderous waterfalls and sweeping views.
Before heading back to Sydney there’s time for one last stop, at the Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens. Check out the indigenous flora including the ancient Wollemi Pine, before continuing back to the city.
The self-guided hike takes approximately 2 hours and is suitable for active people with a reasonable level of fitness. Maximum group size: 14
