Under water and over land, this active adventure showcases the best of the stunning Cahuita National Park.
This diverse park incorporates a marine reserve, mangroves, tropical rainforest and lowland habitats, but is perhaps best known for its spectacular white sand beaches and off-shore coral reefs. Snorkeling in the warm waters of the Caribbean you’ll find around 35 species of coral and a wealth of sealife including tropical fish, sharks, sea urchins, turtles, rays and more. There are even a couple of sunken ships to investigate, although any buried treasure is long gone!
Cruise back to dry land where you’ll take a 2-hour guided hike, with a good chance of spotting sloths, capuchin and howler monkeys, anteaters, armadillos, various snakes and some dazzling butterflies. Birdlife is also in abundance – green ibis, yellow-crowned heron and keel-billed toucans are among the many species you’ll find here. Your guide will be on hand throughout to share facts and insights on this very special national park and its wild inhabitants.
