Head out from Tofino with the west coast wilderness only a few minutes paddle across the harbour. Explore the quiet inlet waters and ancient coastal rainforest of Clayoquot Sound, then make your way from Meares Landing across Tofino harbour to the shores of Meares Island.
Bird life abounds in this area, and it is a pleasure to unobtrusively observe shoreline activity from the kayaks. Land at Meares Island and take a short hike into the rainforest, where you can experience the wonder of giant cedars in the ancient coastal forest. Continue your exploration to the village of Opitsaht, rich in the native history of the west coast, before returning to Tofino.
Get straight to the heart of things. Travelling by train in Eastern Canada is convenient and good value, and takes you where you want to be without traffic or bears in the road.
