Experience both Maori heritage and culture as well as witness the incredible geothermal activity for which Rotorua is famed.
You will enjoy a 90 minute guided tour of the geothermal area at Te Puia where you will see the famous Pohutu Geyser and the bubbling mud pools. Your guide will take you to Te Puia’s kiwi house where if you are lucky you will spot one of New Zealand’s most iconic nocturnal flightless birds – the kiwi.
Visit the traditional Maori carving and weaving schools where you will witness these ancient disciplines in practice before enjoying a cultural concert. After the performance you will indulge in a traditional Maori hangi meal, cooked in an underground oven served alongside New Zealand wines – the perfect way to end your time at Rotorua’s Te Puia.
Price: from £85 per person
Duration: 4.5 hours
Departures: daily
Get where you want to go. Kiwis know how to 'tramp' (hike) properly. Most hikes are sign-posted with a description of the length, time it takes and difficulty given at the start. Nice.
