Thorsmork is a unique area between the three glaciers; Myrdalsjokull, Eyjafjallajokull and Tindfjallajokull. To get there you will be driven by experienced and knowledgeable guides on 4×4 tracks, over un-bridged glacial rivers and through seemingly impassable obstructions; you will get a real insight into the magnificent power of the mighty superjeep.
Accessible only from the south by crossing the river Krossa, taking a superjeep tour enables you to explore Thorsmork in both safety and comfort.
On the way you will see the great effect that the 2010 eruption in Eyjafjallajokull had on the landscape. Gigjokull´s glacial lagoon was filled with volcanic material during the enormous eruption and millions of litres of melted ice from Eyjafjallajokull came bursting down the mountainside causing massive floods and changing the landscape.
The nature reserve of Thorsmork is rich with geological wonders and is a hiker’s paradise, with marked trails for everybody to enjoy.
