Oppland and Hedmark are the distinct lush and green counties lie that between the fjords to the west and the border with Sweden to the east. The deep and narrow valleys, rivers, mountain ranges and fertile farmland make this area exceptionally beautiful.
The summit of the great massif of Dovrefjell, easily reached by road or train, offers excellent hiking opportunities and is one of only three places in the world where you can find the mighty musk ox in the wild.
