It's now available for just $849.99, saving you $200 from the original price, making this a deal worth acting on.

What makes the AOC Agon PRO AG274QZM Tournament Gaming Monitor worthwhile?

Mini-LED: Looking for an alternative to OLED? Your answer is here, with the AG274QZM's mini-LED backlight ready to provide a fantastic gaming experience, with deep blacks, a high contrast ratio, and high brightness levels.240Hz Refresh Rate: Game competitively with ease, using the Tournament Gaming Monitor's 240Hz refresh rate, for great levels of smoothness where it matters most.DisplayHDR 1000: Thanks to the mini-LED display, the AG274QZM can produce up to 1000 nits of peak brightness, with DisplayHDR 1000 present here.1ms GtG Response Time: Experience little to no ghosting in-game, thanks to the 1ms GtG response time available with AOC's Gaming Monitor. What makes this a better option over an OLED?

While there is no doubt that OLED monitors still rule as the best and more preferred monitors between the two, mini-LEDs maintain two major advantages.

Since OLED monitors have the potential of burn-in after prolonged usage without objects on the screen changing, many may be more tempted to turn towards mini-LED, which doesn't suffer from this issue. This is particularly important while gaming, as the HUD/UI in a plethora of games is crucial to gameplay.

It also stands over OLED in terms of peak brightness - while some OLEDs utilize DisplayHDR 1400, many mini-LED displays can take this a step higher. It's important to mention that OLED stands at the very top of the list when it comes to contrast ratios and the deepest blacks, producing unparalleled image quality.

If you're more interested in greater brightness, while still getting some benefits from local dimming zones for deep blacks, then don't hesitate to make a move for this monitor.

Where to buy LG UltraGear 32GS95UE & pre order details in US, Canada, UK One of the most interesting new OLED monitors to be released in 2024 comes from LG, but where can you buy the LG UltraGear 32GS95UE? Well, we get to the bottom of the latest news including pre orders and shipping details. The LG 32GS95UE release date has officially come and gone, but not everyone has been able to get their hands on it just yet as we'll explain.

To give you the best chance of bagging this gaming monitor for yourself, we've put together a curated list of the biggest and best retailers stocking (or expected to stock) this LG OLED. Here we cover stores for US, Canada, and UK regions.

LG UltraGear 32GS95UE pre order details

Pre orders for the LG UltraGear 32GS95UE went live some time ago now as you'll find on the official LG store page. We actually thought that the pre order phase would be over by now, as a few of LG's other OLEDs announced this year have already been fully launched without a problem.

However, we have spotted some users on Reddit complaining about their pre order, whereas others got it delivered just fine. LG still lists the 32GS95UE as available for pre order on their store, with stock problems also evident on Amazon. So, shipping woes has been an issue, preventing it from being 'fully' launched and widely available as far as we understand.

We previously saw the shipping date listed as mid-April (on the 15th to be exact), but it now looks like it has been pushed back to May 13th as LG continue to iron out these problems and deal with backorders.

LG UltraGear 32GS95UE pre order and expected shipping date

LG UltraGear 32GS95UE - US retailers

Below we've compiled the best places to find the new 32GS95UE in the United States. It is already listed on a number of retailers - we feature Amazon, LG, Best Buy, and Newegg.

LG UltraGear 32GS95UE - Canada retailers

In Canada, we recommend you check out Amazon, Best Buy, and Newegg. Problems with stock has also been evident in this region, so be sure to check back regularly.

LG UltraGear 32GS95UE - UK retailers

Finally, the UK has a couple of great regional stores such as Scan and Overclockers UK - in addition to the ever-present Amazon. Interestingly, we haven't yet seen it on the official LG UK store, but an early Amazon listing is here to keep track of.

Amazon UK: LG UltraGear 4K OLED Gaming Monitor 32GS95UEScan: LG UltraGear 32GS95UE at ScanOverclockers UK: LG UltraGear 32GS95UE at Overclockers UK

Is the LG 32GS95UE available to buy?

Yes, sort of. It has now launched, but there have been a few problems with keeping up with demand and reports of delayed shipments, so LG still has the UltraGear 32GS95UE listed as available for pre order on their website. As such, stock is also hard to find on alterative retailers but it should be much more readily available soon.

Which retailer is the best place to buy the LG 32GS95UE?

Right now, buying directly from the LG store is your best bet if you want to purchase the LG UltraGear 32GS95UE. Due to ongoing problems fulfilling backorders, other retailers such as Amazon yet to sell it - though a listing is available to view at the time of writing. This could all change quickly as we progress through the year and available stock has recently been spotted at Best Buy.

ASUS PA32KCX release window prediction, confirmed specs, and price estimate Today we're going to take a look the ASUS PA32KCX release date, formally known as the ASUS ProArt Display PA32KCX. This is billed as the world's first 8K mini-LED professional monitor. It was initially shown off at NAB Show in Las Vegas, which took place in mid-April 2024. We noted that it's about time a new 8K monitor is on the way, and importantly it also makes the jump up to DisplayPort 2.1, something that few monitors boast at the minute.

Aside from the expected release date, we're also going to delve a little deeper into the specs and price of the ProArt PA32KCX - the latter already has plenty to talk about. So far, the price has an early quote, but the exact release date isn't officially known. Either way, it could easily sweep up the title as the best 8K monitor on the market.

ASUS ProArt Display release date window prediction

One of the things left out of the initial reveal was the release date, so we're going to do some speculation to make an informed prediction. First off, we can look back to ASUS' previous professional monitor which this serves as sort of a successor to - the PA32UCXR. This 4K mini-LED monitor finally released back in January 2024 after first being showcased at Computex 2023 in May of that year, as TFTCentral reported.

That's quite a large gap in-between initial reveal and actual availability. We're going to expect the same from the new 8K PA32KCX, so we predict that it will be available in late 2024, most likely Q4 (or Q3 if ASUS is keen to rush it out). It could even spill over into early 2025. Since the launch timing remains ambiguous, we're going to keep track of it moving forward as much as we can!

ASUS ProArt Display PA32KCX specs announced

SpecificationDetailsScreen size32″Resolution7680 x 4320 (8K)Aspect ratio16:9Screen technologyMini-LEDLocal dimming zones4,096Color gamut97% DCI-P3, 99% Adobe RGBColor depthTrue 10-bitHDR supportHDR10Peak brightness1,200 nitsSustained brightness (full screen)1,000 nitsConnectivityDisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, Thunderbolt 4 (power delivery up to 96W)

The ASUS ProArt Display PA32KCX is no doubt a high-spec display, not surprising given it's professional target buyer. It is designed for editing work and the specifications reflect that. If you're looking for the best video editing monitor, maybe you'll want to wait out for this one. The high 8K resolution offers unrivalled visual quality, with a high PPI at this 32" screen size.

For editing, the 97% DCI-P3 color accuracy is ideal, aided by true 10-bit color depth. HDR 10 support is also there, though the lack of Dolby Vision can be seen as a downside. As a mini-LED monitor, it has excellent contrast levels and a high 1,200 nits peak brightness to work well in a bright studio environment. Furthermore, it offers eye care and anti-glare LuxPixel tech to keep unwanted reflections under control; the monitor hood also helps with that. Another important feature for editors is the self/auto calibration via the built-in motorized colorimeter.

The DisplayPort 2.1 port will help run this high resolution without the need for compression tech, though the refresh rate is still expected to be around the 60Hz level (this remains unannounced). Lastly, productivity workflows are supported by the Thunderbolt 4 port that offers up to 96W power delivery.

ProArt Display PA32KCX specs revealed at NAB Show 2024 (image source: Vincent Teoh)

ASUS ProArt Display PA32KCX price teased

There hasn't really been an official announcement for the exact price, but this post from Vincent Teoh on X, who was present at NAB Show says that a preliminary price is quoted at $8,000. Whether this is simply a humorous nod to the resolution rather than a realistic price is something to be debated.

However, considering the 4K alternative we talked about earlier will currently set you back $3,000, and the fact that 8K monitors are very scarce at the moment in general, it does sound like a good ballpark figure - especially when you account for the future-proof DisplayPort 2.1 connectivity, which is expected to be adopted in the RTX 50 series.

Does the ASUS PA32KCX have DisplayPort 2.1?

Yes, the ASUS ProArt Display PA32KCX will indeed include DisplayPort 2.1 connectivity. This is the latest version of the DisplayPort standard, first arriving in October 2022, then supported with the release of AMD's Radeon RX 7000 series. Nvidia's 40 series GPUs skipped it for now, but it is expected with the next generation. It looks to be the way to go for new 8K monitors, with another DP 2.1 example being Samsung's 57" Neo G9 (an ultrawide dual 4K display).

What is the ASUS PA32KCX refresh rate?

Interestingly, the refresh rate of this 8K monitor was left out of the specs list provided when first revealed. With that in mind, we expect it to stick to a pretty standard 60Hz - otherwise we'd think that ASUS would advertise it. Considering that high refresh rate 8K gaming is out of the question for some time, the demand for something like 120Hz isn't really there at the moment. On the flipside, DisplayPort 2.1 does support 8K at 120Hz, so the potential is there.

LG UltraGear 32GS95UE vs ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM: Which monitor is better? If we’re going to talk about 4K gaming in 2024, we need to talk about the LG UltraGear 32GS95UE vs. ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM. What we call the second wave of OLED panels have arrived with 4K resolutions, and every gamer is thinking about which one to get. In this review, we’ll determine whether the native QD-OLED is better in an LG monitor or if the brand recognition and design of the ROG Swift wins.

LG UltraGear 32GS95UE vs. ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM: Specs

Both monitors showcase cutting-edge OLED technology, but let's dive into the details that set them apart:

LG's innovation: Dual-Hz dominance

LG's UltraGear 32GS95UE revolutionizes the high resolution vs. refresh rate tradeoff with its Dual-Hz technology.

Here's how it works:

4K at 240Hz: Enjoy immersive visuals in detail-rich games, a significant leap over traditional OLED gaming monitors.Full HD at 480Hz: Experience unprecedented fluidity in competitive titles where split-second reactions matter.Seamless Switching:  The monitor lets you transition between modes effortlessly, empowering both competitive and casual gamers

ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM: Versatility and features

While the LG impresses with its core display tech, the ASUS offers a range of features that broaden its appeal:

Tripod Thread: Easily mount a camera for streaming or content creation.KVM Switch:  Control multiple devices with a single keyboard/mouse setup.Connectivity:  Extensive ports, including USB-C with power delivery, for a streamlined workstation.Brightness:  While slightly less than LG's peak, 1000 nits in HDR is still impressive.

Shared excellence

Beyond this standout feature, these monitors are similarly impressive:

OLED Brilliance: 32-inch 3rd-gen OLED panels deliver the inky blacks, vibrant colors, and near-infinite contrast OLED is known for.Blazing Speed:  Both boast a 0.03ms GtG response time for exceptionally crisp motion and minimal ghosting.Resolution & Size: They share a crisp 4K UHD resolution on a spacious 32-inch screen size.

Both monitors excel, and your ideal choice depends on priorities:

Pure Gaming Focus: LG's Dual-Hz tech could be the deciding factor for highly competitive players.Content Creation & Versatility:  ASUS's features will appeal to those using the monitor beyond just gaming.

Color gamut and accuracy

For content creators, color accuracy is paramount.  Here's what we know (and what to look for) regarding these monitors:

DCI-P3: The Film Standard: This color space is crucial for video editing and color grading.  The LG UltraGear 32GS95UE promises exceptional DCI-P3 coverage, making it well-suited for these tasks.sRGB: The Web Standard: If your work primarily involves web content, sRGB accuracy matters. Both OLED monitors should excel here, but factory calibration gives the LG a potential edge.Color Calibration Tools: Some monitors offer software or hardware calibration options for further precision. This might be a factor for niche use cases.Beyond the Specs: While color gamuts are useful metrics, real-world color performance depends on multiple factors.  Look for reviews that discuss overall image quality, not just numbers on a spec sheet.

Additional considerations:

Pixel Density (PPI):  With their 4K resolution on a 32-inch screen, both monitors offer excellent sharpness.  Higher pixel density can potentially lead to crisper text and UI elements in non-gaming scenarios.IPS vs. OLED:  While not directly about color accuracy, it's worth noting that IPS panels (not used in these monitors) are known for wider viewing angles.  OLEDs offer incredible contrast and blacks, but can have narrower optimal viewing angles.

HDR performance

HDR (High Dynamic Range) promises a more lifelike image with greater contrast and a wider range of colors.  However, not all HDR implementations are equal.

Here's what to consider with these monitors:

Peak Brightness (Nits): More nits generally means brighter highlights and more impactful HDR effects. The LG UltraGear 32GS95UE boasts a higher advertised peak brightness, which could be an advantage.HDR Standards:  HDR10 is the baseline, but Dolby Vision offers dynamic adjustments for potentially superior HDR.  Check which standards each monitor supports.Local Dimming:  This tech improves contrast by controlling backlight zones. While not confirmed on these models, it can significantly enhance HDR.OLED's Inherent Advantage: OLED panels, by their nature, offer pixel-level dimming, giving them a leg up in HDR contrast compared to even advanced LCD (VA panel or otherwise) monitors.Tuning Matters:  Peak brightness is one part of the equation. How well the monitor maps HDR content to its capabilities is crucial.  Look for reviews that compare these monitors with actual HDR games and movies.

Important notes

Gaming vs. Content: For HDR gaming, the LG's potentially higher peak brightness might be appealing.  For HDR movie watching in a darkened room, the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM's overall tuning might prove superior.Evolving Tech: These are early days for high-end OLED monitors (especially qd-oled panel variants) –  expect even better HDR performance in future generations of monitors from both LG and ASUS.

Connectivity and ports: Your monitor as a hub

The ports on a monitor determine its flexibility in connecting to your various devices. Here's what to look for with these models:

HDMI: Crucial for consoles. Aim for HDMI 2.1 on recent models for 4K at high refresh rates (120Hz+).  Both monitors likely feature at least one HDMI 2.1 port. DisplayPort: The PC standard. Ensure the version (e.g., DisplayPort 1.4 or newer) aligns with your graphics card's output.USB-C port: Versatile for laptops and some tablets. Check if it supports power delivery (charging your device) and video input simultaneously.USB Hub For peripherals! The ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM likely wins here, as ROG monitors often include several USB ports for easy mouse, keyboard, and headset connection.KVM Switch: A specialized feature that lets you control multiple PCs with a single keyboard/mouse connected to your monitor. The ASUS may offer this functionality.

Beyond the basics

G-Sync Compatible / FreeSync Premium Pro: These technologies ensure smooth, tear-free gaming, and both monitors should include at least one variant.

While we await full specs, the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM will likely have a wider range of ports, making it a more convenient central hub for your devices.  The LG UltraGear 32GS95UE might be slightly more streamlined, focusing on core gaming connectivity.

Design and ergonomics

Beyond visual specs, a monitor's physical design impacts its usability and how it integrates into your workspace.

Here's what to consider:

Stand Adjustability:  Look for tilt, swivel, and height adjustment to find your ideal viewing angle. A sturdy base is also crucial.VESA Compatibility:  A VESA mount lets you swap the stand for an arm or custom mounting solution, freeing up desk space. Both monitors should be VESA compatible.Aesthetics:  This is subjective. LG often favors minimalism, while ASUS ROG products have a bolder “gamer” aesthetic with RGB lighting. Expect these new monitors to match their brand styles.Cable Management:  Some monitors have clips or channels on the stand to keep cables tidy.  This can be a bonus for a clean setup, but not a dealbreaker.

Importance of ergonomics

Health:  Adjustability helps prevent strain from poor posture. Don't underestimate the value of finding the perfect monitor position.Focus: A well-designed monitor that “disappears” from your attention can enhance gaming immersion.

Early impressions

While detailed reviews are needed to confirm, here's what we might expect:

LG UltraGear 32GS95UE: Likely a sleeker, simpler design, prioritizing the stunning display itself.ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM:  Potentially a bulkier stand with more features but could also offer superior cable management.

OLED panels offer some inherent ergonomic advantages, namely excellent viewing angles and true blacks that are easy on the eyes in dark rooms.

Software and OSD

A monitor's software and its on-screen menu system can significantly impact usability, especially for gamers and those who like to fine-tune their display.

Gaming Features: Look for customizable crosshairs, FPS counters, built-in timers, and other tools that can give a competitive edge. ASUS ROG monitors usually excel in this area.Color Calibration: If you do creative work, some monitors offer software or hardware calibration options for enhanced color accuracy.Picture Modes: Presets for different content (movies, RTS games, etc.) can be handy.  Both LG and ASUS typically include these.OSD Navigation: Is the menu intuitive and easy to use? A well-designed OSD makes tweaking settings quick and painless.

Brand expectations

ASUS ROG:  Known for feature-rich software suites. Expect extensive customization of everything from picture settings to RGB lighting on the monitor itself.LG UltraGear:  LG may take a more streamlined approach, focusing on core image adjustments and features like its unique Dual-Mode functionality for switching refresh rates (an aspect likely controlled in the OSD).

Verdict

This area often comes down to personal preference:

Customization Lovers: ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM will likely be the winner.Simplicity Seekers: LG UltraGear 32GS95UE might suffice if you prefer a less complex user experience.

LG UltraGear 32GS95UE vs. ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM: Price

While the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM has a set price of $1300, the pricing strategy for the LG UltraGear 32GS95UE remains shrouded in anticipation, with expectations placing it around the $1200 mark. This expected price point not only makes the UltraGear monitor an attractive proposition but also positions it as a potentially better value, particularly when considering its standout dual-Hz technology.

This innovative feature offers gamers unparalleled versatility, combining the immersive experience of 4K resolution at 240Hz with the competitive edge provided by 1080p resolution at a groundbreaking 480Hz. Essentially, it's akin to getting two monitors for the price of one: a 4K display for visually demanding games and cinematic experiences, and a high-refresh-rate 1080p monitor for competitive gaming scenarios where every millisecond counts.

Given this unique dual-Hz capability, the LG UltraGear 32GS95UE not only presents itself as a compelling choice for gamers looking to maximize their investment but also challenges the value proposition of its ASUS counterpart.

Tabular comparison

MonitorExpected Price RangeNotesLG UltraGear 32GS95UE$1300 — $1600 (USD)Premium OLED tech and Dual-Hz feature could drive the price upASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM$1400 — $1700 (USD)ASUS ROG brand often commands a higher price, additional features

LG UltraGear 32GS95UE vs. ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM: Conclusion

The LG UltraGear, with its groundbreaking Dual-Hz technology, stands out as a particularly compelling option for gamers who demand the flexibility to switch between ultra-high refresh rates and top-tier resolution with the click of a button. This feature alone sets a new benchmark for versatility in gaming displays, offering an unmatched blend of performance for both competitive and visually immersive gaming experiences.

However, the potential pricing of the LG UltraGear 32GS95UE could be its Achilles' heel. While it's expected to be priced around $1200, a significant leap to $1500 or beyond could challenge its position against the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM, which is priced at $1300 and boasts an array of gamer-centric design features.

These include a robust integrated USB hub, the convenience of a KVM switch, and the utility of a built-in camera mount, making it not just a display, but a hub for a comprehensive gaming setup. Ultimately, while the LG UltraGear offers a more innovative feature set with its dual-Hz technology, its success in the market will heavily depend on its final retail price. If it significantly exceeds the $1500 mark, the balance may tip in favor of the ASUS ROG Swift and its exceptional design tailored specifically for gamers.

Does either monitor support Display Stream Compression (DSC), and why does it matter?

Potentially! DSC is crucial for high resolutions and refresh rates, especially over HDMI connections.  Here's why it's important:

Bandwidth: DSC allows for higher resolution and refresh rate combinations without sacrificing image quality.4K at 240Hz:  This might require DSC, especially for console gamers using HDMI.Compatibility: Confirm in reviews whether DSC is supported and ensure your devices (graphics card, etc.) also support it.

I'm seeing the term “Dual-Mode Gaming Monitor.” What is that, and is it exclusive to the LG UltraGear?

LG's Dual-Mode technology is a standout feature on the UltraGear 32GS95UE. Here's what it does:

ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDM vs Alienware AW3423DW Curved QD-OLED – QD or not? The comparison of the ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDM vs Dell Alienware AW3423DW Curved QD-OLED is mainly a comparison of technologies. The QD-OLED from Samsung has led the market for quite some time against the WOLED from LG. The Alienware curved from Dell was the first 1440p monitor with an OLED panel and since 2022 this monitor has been leading, then Asus came with LG technology and the competition has been close.

This article will compare the PG34WCDM with the AW3423DW, looking at both WOLED and QD-OLED monitor technologies to determine which one is the best 1440p OLED monitor. We will check brightness, performance, color gamut, refresh rate, price, and overall specs to determine the winner.

To find out more about Dell's latest release, the Alienware AW3423DW, check out our MSI 271QRX vs Alienware AW3423DW comparison guide where we decide which of these impressive OLED gaming monitors deserves the top spot. Similarly, you could take a look at our ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDM release date speculation piece, where we cover all the rumors relating to the release of the PG34WCDM.

Specs and performance comparison

Starting with panel technology, WOLED and QD-OLED represent two approaches to achieving outstanding color performance, contrast, and clarity in display technology. WOLED, utilized by the Asus ROG Swift, offers a broad color space and deep blacks, making it suitable for a wide coverage of applications, from gaming to professional desktop use.

However, its application in the PG34WCDM involves considerations around text clarity and potential image retention risks, which are critical for users prioritizing office and general productivity tasks.

The Dell Alienware AW3423DW leverages QD-OLED technology, renowned for its vibrant color reproduction and exceptional contrast ratios. Considering the pixel density of both panels is the same (3440 x 1440 PPI), a notable discussion point for the AW3423DW is its RGB subpixel layout, which differs from the WRGB arrangement found in LG Display panels that include an additional white sub-pixel.

Another key aspect of these monitors is their curvature. The Asus PG34WCDM features a steep 800R curvature, targeting an immersive gaming experience by enveloping the user's field of view. This design is particularly appealing to gamers seeking depth and immersion in their gameplay. On the other hand, the Dell Alienware's 1800R curvature is less pronounced, offering versatility that caters to gamers and professionals seeking a balance between immersion and practicality for multitasking and productivity.

In terms of connectivity options, both monitors offer extensive outlets. The PG34WCDM provides 2x HDMI 2.1 ports, a USB-C port with 90 W power delivery, and a DisplayPort 1.4 (DSC). Whereas, the AW3423DW offers quite the selection of available ports, including 2x HDMI 2.0 ports, 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 4x USB-A ports, and 1x USB-B port. Both monitors come with adjustable stands that allow the user to tilt and swivel the panel to an angle that's right for them and their space.

Regarding gaming, Dell's AW3423DW ultrawide format and 3440x1440 resolution ensure sharp, immersive visuals, a hallmark of OLED's near-instant response times. Unlike an LCD monitor that relies on overdrive technology to minimize ghosting, the AW3423DW's OLED panel naturally achieves a blistering 0.1ms G2G response time without such adjustments, as per Dell's specifications.

Conversely, Asus' approach with the PG34WCDM emphasizes the raw potential of OLED's speed, boasting an ambitious 0.03ms G2G response time. While such figures might border on the theoretical, they highlight the technology's capability to deliver sub-1ms performance.

The gaming benefits of Dell's QD-OLED panel shouldn't be overlooked. With its super-deep blacks and infinite contrast ratio, the AW3423DW excels in rendering shadow detail and true blacks, especially in dimly lit environments. The semi-glossy screen coating not only enriches color vibrancy and black depth but also minimizes reflections, offering an optimal viewing experience in various lighting conditions.

Price comparison

Currently, the Dell monitor is priced at a competitive $999, making it an attractive option for those in the market for a high-end gaming monitor. In contrast, the Asus monitor stands at $1300, a premium that demands consideration.

Dell's value proposition is strengthened by its robust panel and consistently high ratings among users and critics alike. While the Asus monitor brings its own set of advantages to the table, such as its impressive 240Hz refresh rate, the price differential poses a significant hurdle.

ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDM vs Alienware AW3423DW - which is better?

While the Asus monitor boasts noteworthy features, such as its higher refresh rate, it's Dell's combination of price, performance, and panel quality that offers undeniable value. For gamers aiming to maximize their 1440p gaming experience, the Dell Alienware AW3423DW stands out as the logical and compelling choice, delivering top-tier gaming excellence without breaking the bank.

What are the disadvantages of an OLED monitor?

Purchasing an OLED monitor could be just the thing you need to take your gaming to the next level. With higher contrast ratios and better viewing angles, OLEDs provide a number of advantages over more common LCD models. However, there are a number of disadvantages to owning this kind of panel, that are important to be aware of before purchasing. For example, they may have a shorter lifetime and can demonstrate vulnerability to light, in addition to being significantly more expensive than LCDs, so may not be within every user's budget.

Conclusion

In the clash between the ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDM and the Dell Alienware AW3423DW Curved QD-OLED, Dell emerges as the clear victor. With its superior panel technology and commendable reliability backed by stellar ratings, the Alienware monitor not only surpasses Asus in performance but does so at a more attractive price point of $999 compared to Asus's $1300. So in the battle between QD-OLED and WOLED technology, it seems QD-OLED wins this time.

Specs and performance

At the heart of both monitors is the impressive 360Hz refresh rate, a feature that pushes the boundaries of gaming fluidity and responsiveness, especially in fast-paced games. Achieving such frame rates in-game is a challenging feat that needs high-end hardware, yet the allure of ultra-smooth gameplay makes this a coveted specification. Both MSI and Alienware have embraced this challenge, equipping their monitors with the capability to deliver unparalleled refresh rates, improving the gaming experience significantly.

The introduction of QD-OLED technology is another shared strength, offering a vibrant color space, deep blacks, and an infinite contrast ratio. Both monitors boast a 27-inch QD-OLED panel and a higher resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, which provides sharp, detailed visuals that enhance gaming and multimedia experiences.

The Alienware AW2725DF, in its third gen, finally changed from the LG Display improving its quality. MSI quickly followed suit with the 271QRX, incorporating the same advanced panel technology right from its debut.

Brightness levels on both monitors are noteworthy, with the ability to reach up to 268 nits, exceeding the specified 250 nits. This performance ensures that both displays offer ample luminance, vibrant colors, and peak brightness for various gaming and office work scenarios. The 27-inch size combined with the 1440p resolution strikes an optimal balance between screen real estate and pixel density, making for crisp, immersive visuals without scaling.

Response times are another critical factor where both monitors excel, boasting a 0.03ms G2G time. This specification guarantees almost instantaneous pixel transitions, eliminating motion blur and ghosting to provide a competitive edge in fast-paced gaming situations.

In terms of connectivity options, both monitors support a fairly standard range. The 271QRX provides two HDMI 2.1 ports, two USB Type-A, one USB Type-B, one USB-C, and a Displayport. The HDMI ports use the HDMI CEC (consumer electronics control) function with 48Gbps bandwidth. Whereas, the AW2725DF supports one HDMI 2.1 connector, three USB-A ports, one USB Type B, and a USB Type C. The monitor also hosts not one but two DisplayPorts, which can tap 360Hz at a resolution of 2,560 by 1440 pixels. Both monitors come with an adjustable stand, that the user is able to tilt and swivel to fit well within their workspace or gaming environment.

Considering the similarities in panel technology, refresh rate, and performance metrics, the main difference between the MSI 271QRX and Alienware AW2725DF boils down to finer details such as the finish and, potentially, the price. Both monitors represent the pinnacle of current gaming display panel technology, with their flat screens offering comfort and versatility for both gaming and productivity tasks.

Price

The MSI MPG 271QRX and Alienware AW2725DF QD-OLED Gaming Monitor stand as formidable purchases, each boasting cutting-edge QD-OLED technology and an impressive 360Hz refresh rate. However, when it comes to affordability, MSI takes the lead with the 271QRX model priced at $799.99, undercutting Dell Alienware's tag of $899.99 by a notable $100.

This price discrepancy positions the MSI 271QRX as an enticing option for gamers. Offering equivalent build quality and technical specifications at a lower cost, it presents an availability for savvy gamers to allocate savings towards other crucial components of their gaming setup, such as a more powerful GPU.

This strategic investment is particularly pertinent in scenarios where achieving the maximum benefit from a 360Hz refresh rate monitor depends heavily on the graphical processing power available.

Is the MSI 271QRX better than the Alienware AW2725DF QD-OLED?

Considering the similar build quality and specifications of both monitors, the MSI MPG 271QRX emerges as the best 27-inch 1440p OLED gaming monitor, primarily due to its more accessible pricing. It's an investment that ensures premium gaming quality without compromising on the performance that gamers have come to expect, making it our recommended pick for those ready to dive into the future of gaming visuals.

Final words

Alienware, with its legacy of quality and performance, has long been a favorite among gamers who seek reliability and top-tier performance. Similarly, the MSI option doesn't lag behind, presenting itself as an equally formidable contender in the realm of gaming displays.

When it comes down to making a choice, however, the pricing becomes a pivotal factor. With the MSI MPG 271QRX priced at $799.99, standing $100 less than Alienware's $899.99, it's hard to overlook the value MSI brings to the table. This price advantage positions the MSI monitor as an exceptional choice for gamers aiming to maximize their setup's potential while being mindful of their budget.

Is 4K resolution (QHD) worth it on a 32-inch monitor?

Absolutely! 4K on a 32-inch display means a high pixel density, resulting in incredibly sharp images and text. This is a boon for content creators working with high-resolution photos and videos.  Gamers will also see smoother visuals and benefit when opting for slightly lower resolutions (like 1440p) for even higher refresh rates.

How do the connectivity options compare between the LG UltraGear 32GS95UE and Dell Alienware AW3225QF?

Both feature HDMI 2.1 ports for new consoles and DisplayPort 1.4 for high-refresh gaming.  The LG UltraGear 32GS95UE offers the added bonus of a USB-C port, increasing its versatility for connecting modern laptops and other devices.

And, what new features does it utilize? In this article, we take a look at the MSI 271QRX release date speculation, as well as focusing on its upgraded specs and price.

Hoping to find out some more on the most recent gaming monitors on the market, then check out our guide of best gaming monitors in 2024 or our Asus ROG SWIFT OLED PG34WCDM release date speculation round-up.

MSI 271QRX - release date speculation

The 271QRX represents a significant opportunity for users to upgrade their setups with a gaming monitor that promises to elevate the gaming experience to new heights. After its launch announcement in January 2024, MSI is still yet to confirm an official release date for this product. However, after doing some digging we've found that the product is available for pre-order from various retailers. Overclockers and Scan, are just two of the websites that have the product listed as available for pre-order.

Additionally, on the Scan website, (page linked above) it states that the product is due on the 23rd of April, so perhaps we'll be seeing the unit sooner than expected. It's important to note, that all of this information is speculated and it's always good to wait for confirmation from manufacturers themselves.

MSI 271QRX - features

SpecificationsMSI 271QRXSize27 InchesResolution2560 x 1440Refresh rate360 HzResponse Time0.03msPanel TechnologyQD-OLED (Quantum Dot OLED)Brightness250 nitsHDRDisplayHDR True Black 400

The MSI 271QRX is poised to redefine expectations in the gaming monitor market with its array of high-performance features and image quality. Central to its appeal is the utilization of a 27-inch Samsung Display next-gen QD-OLED panel, which combines Quantum Dot and OLED technology to deliver an unparalleled visual experience. This cutting-edge panel technology is complemented by a glossy anti-reflective screen surface, enhancing clarity and reducing distractions for gamers in any lighting condition.

At the heart of the 271QRX's performance credentials is its impressive 360Hz refresh rate at a 2560 x 1440 resolution, offering maximum visuals and an edge in fast-paced gaming scenarios. This high refresh rate is perfectly matched with a 0.03 ms GTG response time, ensuring that blurry pixels are virtually nonexistent and every transition is crisp and immediate. Such specs position the 271QRX as an ideal choice for competitive gamers who demand precision and fluidity in their gaming sessions.

The devices support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) technology, including HDMI 2.1 VRR and Adaptive-Sync, extends compatibility across a wide array of systems, including PCs, Xbox Series X, and PS5. This broad support ensures that technologies like AMD FreeSync and Nvidia ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ can be utilized effectively, offering a VRR range of 48 – 360Hz plus Low Framerate Compensation (LFC) for a tear-free gaming experience across all frame rates.

The unit supports a fanless design that uses customized heatsinks and QD-OLED panels that are equipped with a graphene film, ensuring efficient and silent heat dispersion, and reducing the chances of OLED screen burn-in. The 271QRX will provide HDMI 2.1 ports with 48Gbps bandwidth and uses the HDMI CEC (consumer electronics control) function. Additionally, it will host a USB type-C (360 Hz max. DP alt) cable connection, which the user is able to do firmware updates through. The monitor also comes with an adjustable stand, which adapts to workspace and console position.

Furthermore, the 271QRX shines in HDR performance, boasting an extremely high contrast with VESA certification for ClearMR 13000 and DisplayHDR True Black 400. This, along with alternative HDR settings that allow for higher brightness peaks, ensures that HDR content is rendered with deep blacks, bright highlights, and a rich color palette that creates vivid images, thanks to the monitor’s 10-bit color depth and generous color gamut. This 34-inch marvel, boasting a resolution of 3440 x 1440, is designed to deliver an immersive gaming experience, combining the impressive aspects of its ultrawide form with the unparalleled clarity and detail that only an OLED panel can provide.

The significant leap to a 240Hz refresh rate, up from the previous 175Hz standard, sets a new benchmark for smoothness and responsiveness in gaming monitors, ensuring that every movement and transition on the screen is rendered with absolute precision, thanks to its rapid 0.03 ms response time.

The PG34WCDM stands out not just for its speed but also for its luminance, with an impressive 1300 nits of peak brightness that brings HDR content to life like never before. This capability, coupled with the VESA DisplayHDR True Black compliance, ensures that gamers and professionals alike can enjoy a dynamic range of colors and contrasts, from the deepest blacks to the most vibrant hues. If you're keen to find out more about different OLED gaming monitors, we've got you covered, with our best OLED monitors in 2024 and our Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 release date predictions.

LG 32GS95UE release date

The LG 32GS95UE stands poised to redefine the gaming and professional monitor market in 2024, promising an unparalleled blend of size, speed, and quality. What's more, pre-orders are now available and shipping has started rolling out - so some buyers have already got their hands on the monitor. Interestingly though, despite expected shipping from around the 15th of April, the monitor's page is still only displaying pre-order options: it seems that there are some issues with stock, and the monitor is now on backorder. This problem has been flagged on Reddit, with some buyers saying that their order now isn't expected for another 11 to 12 weeks.

So, the LG 32GS95UE was meant to already have seen its full release, but issues with backorder mean that for now, we're seeing an extended pre-order period as LG struggles to rise to the demands for its flagship OLED monitor. While the LG 32GS95UE arrives a little later to the scene than the likes of the Alienware AW3225QF, it's clear there's still plenty of interest in the best of the best from LG, especially with features such as the Dual Mode refresh rate.

We have a page dedicated to help you find where to buy LG UltraGear 32GS95UE if you're interested.

LG 32GS95UE - specs

The LG 32GS95UE is set to make a significant impact in the gaming monitor market, blending groundbreaking technologies with stunning display. At the heart of its appeal is the monitor's impressive 32-inch QD-OLED panel, which brings the exceptional color and deep blacks synonymous with OLED technology to a sizable canvas.

This monitor isn't just about size; it's about pushing the boundaries of what gaming displays can achieve, particularly with its innovative design and refresh rate capabilities.

One of the LG 32GS95UE's hallmark features is its use of Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology, a feature borrowed from LG's new lineup of OLED TVs. This inclusion promises a substantial brightness boost, propelling the monitor to reach up to 1,300 nits.

Such a level of brightness not only enhances the HDR experience but also ensures that the display's colors and details pop even in the most luminous or darkest scenes. Coupled with VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400 certification and a DCI-P3 98.5% color gamut, the 32GS95UE is engineered to deliver an exceptional visual experience, with contrast and HDR performance.

In terms of resolution and refresh rate, the 32GS95UE doesn't disappoint. It offers a native 4K UHD resolution (3840×2160) with a refresh rate of 240Hz, ensuring crystal-clear image quality with smooth motion for a premium gaming experience.

For gamers who prioritize speed, LG introduces a dual mode refresh rate allowing a switch to 1080p at an astounding 480Hz with just a simple click of a button. This flexibility means users no longer have to choose between high resolution and high refresh rate; the 32GS95UE offers the best of both worlds depending on the gaming scenario.

The dual-Hz feature, while not as visually perceptible, is a testament to LG's commitment to meet gamers' diverse demands and provide options for competitive gamers for whom every millisecond counts. With a response time of 0.03ms GtG, the UltraGear 32GS95UE ensures that motion clarity and responsiveness are unparalleled, even at the highest levels of play.

The monitor supports LG's 4-side, basically borderless design that creates a stunning visual experience that doesn't distract from the on-screen action. The monitor uses a front-facing sound system that incorporates external speakers that are cleverly hidden behind the panel, saving valuable desk space and elevating gaming immersion. The woofers used in the design feature Pixel sound technology which creates an exhilarating three-dimensional soundscape and enhances the audio performance greatly.

How much will the LG 32GS95UE cost?

Following announcements from LG, we can confirm that the LG 32GS95UE's final price hits a truly premium $1,399, meaning it should without a doubt stand as one of the best gaming monitors in 2024. For the most part, its pricing is justified due to its use of the WOLED panel technology, and top-of-the-line features such as the Dual Mode or Pixel Sound speakers. Certainly, if you've got a high-end GPU such as an RTX 4090, 4080 Super, or an RX 7900 XTX, the 32GS95UE promises to make a pairing like no other. It's your call whether to not the allure of LG's flagship monitor is worth the extra $200 over the Alienware alternative, the AW3225QF.

Final words

The LG 32GS95UE steps boldly into Samsung's territory, bringing LG's cutting-edge WOLED technology to the forefront of the gaming monitor user experience. This monitor isn't just about entering the competition; it's about setting new benchmarks for refresh rates and picture quality. While its design might play it safe, the LG 32GS95UE's technical achievements speak volumes, offering a deep, immersive gaming experience that few can match.

For the elite gamer who prioritizes peak performance without sacrificing visual fidelity, the LG 32GS95UE is the ultimate display. It combines the unparalleled clarity of 4K with the fluidity of a 480Hz refresh rate, ensuring that every moment on screen is as lifelike as it is seamless.

Acer X39 expected specs and features

Specs and Components

According to Acer, the new Predator X39 will enable "high contrast for incredibly detailed images and ultra-fast refresh rates and response times for the smoothest possible performance". The Predator X39 is poised to redefine immersive gaming with its groundbreaking features, especially its bold 800R curvature which supports accurate views, even at tight angles of up to 178 degrees. This level of curvature on a 39-inch monitor is a rarity, traditionally found on much larger screens, and it promises to immerse users into a gaming experience like no other. The decision to incorporate such an aggressive curve is a clear indicator of Acer's ambition to innovate within the gaming space.

OLED technology and graphics

The X39's OLED technology is another highlight, promising deep blacks and vibrant colors that bring every scene to life, though its peak brightness of 450 nits means HDR performance may be somewhat limited. However, this is more than compensated for by other specs: a high refresh rate of 240Hz ensures motion appears buttery smooth, crucial for fast-paced games, and the UWQHD (3440x1440) resolution/aspect ratio delivers crisp, detailed images that can elevate both gaming and everyday computing tasks. The monitor's swift 0.01 ms pixel response time eradicates motion blur, providing a pristine visual clarity that competitive gamers will appreciate.

AMD FreeSync Premium

Additionally, Acer has integrated all of their new OLED and mini-LED monitors with AMD FreeSync Premium which smoothly renders fast-paced action visuals without screen tearing and flickering during movies or gameplay, and USB Type-C 90W PD port which will deliver display, data transfer, and device charging simultaneously, and a built-in KVM switch for swapping sources without having to reconnect peripherals. These changes are set to bring serious improvements to this range, removing potential lag.

Display

Moreover, with a DCI-P3 99% color gamut and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification, the Predator X39 guarantees a wide and accurate color representation alongside enhanced contrast for supported content, making every game and movie a feast for the eyes. Speaking of eyes, these new models are also certified Eyesafe 2.0, and default to image retention refresh to help prevent eye strain.

These features collectively make the X39 a beacon of gaming technology, crafted for those who seek not just a monitor, but an immersive portal to their virtual worlds. Acer's commitment to pushing the limits of what a gaming monitor can be is vividly embodied in the Predator X39, making it a highly anticipated addition for gamers aiming to dive deeper into their gaming universes.

What are the new mini LED monitors at CES 2024?

At CES 2024, Acer announced two mini-LED models; the Acer Predator Z57 and the Predator X34 V3. The Predator Z57 is one of the standouts among the new Mini-LED monitors, boasting a size equivalent to two or three typical monitors. Featuring a massive 57-inch panel with a resolution of 7680×2160 and a 120Hz refresh rate, it essentially combines two 4K monitors side by side.

With a Mini-LED backlight comprising 2,304 dimming zones, this monitor surpasses the usual count found in most mini-LED monitors (typically 512 or 1,024 zones), albeit considering its expansive screen area. Nevertheless, the backlight promises exceptional brightness for HDR gaming, and the monitor holds VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification.

Final thoughts

The Acer Predator X39 emerges as a trailblazer in the gaming monitor market, especially with its rare 800R curvature on a 39-inch screen, promising an unmatched immersive experience. This monitor, with its OLED technology, 450 nits of brightness, and a refresh rate of 240Hz at a resolution of 3440 x 1440, caters to the high-end segment of the gaming community. Although its peak brightness limits HDR capabilities, its swift 0.01 ms response time, extensive DCI-P3 99% color gamut, and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification ensure a visually stunning gaming and viewing experience.

In conclusion, the Acer Predator X39 is ideally recommended for the elite gamer who demands not just high-performance gaming but also a deeply immersive and visually captivating experience. Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 release date prediction, and price speculation With the CES 2024 frenzy now in the past, it is the perfect time to reflect and get excited about the models that were announced. An exciting announcement from Samsung came with the unveiling of their OLED gaming monitor range, in particular the Samsung Odyssey OLED G6. Despite many of the details remaining under wraps for now, it has not stopped experts and fans from predicting the release date and speculating over price. So we did our research and have all the answers in one easy place. Here is the Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 - release date prediction and price speculation.

For additional Samsung Odyssey OLED content, be sure to check out Samsung Odyssey G8 OLED speculation as well as Samsung Odyssey G8 OLED (2024) vs Odyssey G8 OLED (2023). So, where were we?

Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 release date prediction

For now, the Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 release date remains purely speculative. However, we can predict that the Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 will drop within Q2 or Q3 of 2024 after its initial announcement in January. This is because of the typical pattern of release from the manufacturer. For example, the Odyssey G65B took a couple of months after its announcement to become widely available. This release pattern allows fans to get excited and fully up-to-date before the product becomes available for pre-order. It is important to remember that this is yet to be confirmed officially by Samsung, so best to take this information with a pinch of salt.

Samsung Odyssey OLED price speculation

So, how much will this new model cost you? Based on other OLED screen prices with 1440p fittings, most have an MSRP of around the $1000 price tag. Furthermore, the majority of OLED screens tend to be built towards 240Hz, but this new Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 will be a 360Hz monitor. Although nothing has been confirmed yet, users and fans can expect a price within the 4-digit mark. With that being said, the Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 will likely not be too expensive as the product does not include features such as SmartThings and other Smart TV functionalities. Their absence will likely lead to a reduction in cost overall.

What to expect from the Samsung Odyssey OLED G6?

The new OLED models that came from CES 2024 have promised to "deliver on the performance and visual clarity gamers look for in their monitors" according to Samsung. The new range includes the Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SD model), as well as the Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SD model), and the updated Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD model). The Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 is a 27” QHD (2,560 x 1,440) monitor that supports a 16:9 aspect ratio, 360Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms GTG response time. So far so good for fans of the Samsung Odyssey OLED G6, but we will have to wait and see when a full specs breakdown is dropped.

Will the Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 be worth it?

It is difficult to judge right now if the Samsung Odyssey G6 will be worth it. Until we know more about how much these new features and specs will cost fans it is difficult to judge. Samsung has a very decent track record in delivering solid screens that please consumers, so we do go into this new series expecting a level of consistency and quality.
