The creation of a local family, Arctic Retreat is a hidden gem located in the heart of the wilderness beside the Rane River. About an hour inland from the coastal city of Lulea courtesy of a private transfer, it is set amidst a boreal forest, which is picture-perfect under winter snow. Offering great personal service and authentic experiences, the moment you arrive you’ll know you’re in for an amazing arctic adventure.
A key feature at Arctic Retreat is the cuisine – Swedish style home cooking is the foundation of the menu, using the best local ingredients including fish, game, vegetables, berries and mushrooms and prepared using recipes from the Swedish and Sami cultures. All meals are included in your stay (excludes alcoholic beverages). Breakfast and dinner are served in the cosy timber Getronosan Restaurant. Lunch is usually provided during an outdoor activity.
These activities include husky sledding, snowmobile safaris, snowshoeing, Sami cultural visits and northern light excursions all contributing to an authentic and adventurous getaway.
