Cicada Lodge, Katherine

Overview

Located 300km south of Darwin and a mere 32km from the township of Katherine, Cicada Lodge is the only superior accommodation within Nitmiluk National Park.

With a focus on sustainability and cultural appreciation, Cicada Lodge seamlessly blends modern comforts with the natural beauty and ancient heritage of its surroundings.

The lodge is perched close to the edge of the gorge, surrounded by natural bush. Its spacious, eco-friendly cabins care equipped with air conditioning, ensuite bathrooms, and private balconies. Each room comes complete with indigenous artwork, reflecting the local Jawoyn culture, while the award-winning restaurant serves a menu flavoured with native ingredients. There is a swimming pool at the lodge, while just down the road you’ll find Nitmiluk’s striking gorges, walking trails, and cultural heritage.

Nitmiluk National Park is owned by the Jawoyn people, made up of 17 indigenous clans. All proceeds from Jawoyn businesses are re-invested into the community, for human services, employment, education and successful partnerships in tourism and land management. Your visit will support their essential work and help ensure the protection of the land and its people for future generations.
