Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa

Overview

A truly unique location; all rooms are nestled amongst the canopy of the world’s oldest living rainforest. Home to a large range of plants and animals, this 135 million year old wilderness is the perfect place to stay for close encounters with Australia’s outdoors.

Despite its remote setting, the lodge is easily accessible on a 90 minute drive over sealed roads north of Cairns (40 minutes north of Port Douglas). From the lodge, it is possible to head out on excursions into the rainforest, to journey up the river, learn more about local Aboriginal culture or join a cruise out to the iconic Great Barrier Reef. The cheerful people at the tour desk will happily help you book. The lodge’s award-winning Daintree Wellness Spa features locally made products and treatments created with the help of the Kuku Yalangi rainforest Aboriginal people and is an ideal way to relax before returning to the pool and sundeck.

The Julaymba Restaurant overlooks a fresh water pond where turtles are often spotted and the chefs creatively serve contemporary Australian cuisine. A Muramaka is held every night in the bar, where guests, staff and management can meet, exchange stories and get to know each other and guests are encouraged to attend.

Each treehouse has its own balcony and original Aboriginal artwork.
